On the morning of August 12, 2024, Talipapa Elementary School transformed into a bustling hub of learning and empowerment as 25 members of the Talipapa Association gathered for a Bread Baking (Pandesal) Training. This hands-on workshop, held from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon, was a collaborative effort aimed at enhancing the livelihood opportunities within the community.

The training was facilitated by the Cabanatuan City Livelihood and Development Office, with the main implementation led by the Community Engagement and Outreach Program (CEOP) Office. The Institute of Business Management (IBM) also played a crucial role as a co-collaborator, providing valuable expertise and support.

CEOP Officer Mrs. Maria Victoria Victa emphasized the significance of the training in her opening remarks, stating, “Umaasa kaming sa pamamagitan nito ay mapapalakas namin ang inyong kabuhayan at nang sa gayon ay maging produktibo rin ang inyong mga anak sa kanilang pag-aaral.” Her words resonated deeply with the participants, as the training was not just about learning a new skill but about empowering the entire community to improve their economic standing and support their children's education.

CEOP Director Rene Boy Abiva also shared his vision for the future of this initiative, saying, “Hindi magtatagal ay sisimulan na natin ang feasibility study at nang sa gayon ay makita natin ang maaaring patunguhan ng mga pagsisikap nating ito.” His statement underscored the program's commitment to sustainability, ensuring that the training would lead to long-term benefits for the participants.

IBM Dean Dr. Luzviminda Bundoc expressed the institution's unwavering support for such initiatives, stating, “Katuwang niyo kami lagi sa mga ganitong gawain sapagkat ito ang aming mandato.” Her words highlighted the strong partnership between the educational institution and the community, a collaboration rooted in a shared mission to uplift and empower.

The Bread Baking Training at Talipapa Elementary School was more than just a workshop; it was a step towards a brighter future for the participants and their families. As they learned the art of baking pandesal, they also gained the tools and confidence needed to explore new livelihood opportunities. With continued support and collaboration, this initiative is set to create lasting positive change in the Talipapa community. ###
